Sometimes, I find it difficult to express how I feel because I don’t always understand the reasons behind my emotions. At times, I become silent for no clear reason—or perhaps there is a reason, but I can’t quite identify it. When something bothers me or when I feel my social energy draining, I tend to withdraw and give people the silent treatment.
It’s not because I’m angry—far from it. I seek peace, and I’ve learned that the best way to manage my emotions is through silence. If I speak while my mind is in turmoil, I know my words could hurt you, and that’s the last thing I want. Silence, for me, is a way to regain control and avoid causing harm.
