Today was actually a good day, I guess. I went to sleep late, after 12 AM, but somehow still managed to wake up at 7 AM. Even though I didn’t want to, I had no choice because all my family members returned today.
For the first half of the day, I had no work—actually, not just the first half, but the whole day. So, my friend/colleague and I had a 3-hour-long meeting. Since we hadn’t done any meeting in a week, it was a really fruitful discussion. We shared a lot of research we had done on different security-related topics, general internal studies, plans, and tasks we need to complete. We even made a task chart for our company. Basically, we work as a duo in the company.
Later in the afternoon, I had another discussion with my another friend about various things. At one point, we started talking about plans for studying abroad. As I already mentioned in a previous journal entry, I want to leave this place, so I need to find a way as soon as possible. I was in the research phase, looking into countries, courses, universities, loans, scholarships, and all the details. There’s still a lot to figure out.
As the day was coming to an end, the SAML authentication configuration was finally completed—right when I was about to clock out. But when I started my proxy for security testing and opened Burp Suite to check the flow, within just a few seconds, I found a critical bug! Haha. Now, I’ll continue learning about SAML. I’ve already covered the basics, but I need to explore a few more methods.
Also, I’ve been thinking—the bugs my friend and I are finding are on a top-notch level. We’re practically working as professionals, yet we’re still interns. I feel like we deserve much more because I know that the bugs we’ve reported over the past few months could have caused millions in losses for the company. If I had found these in a bug bounty program, I’d easily have earned a few thousand dollars. But whatever. I’m getting serious about this again because today, one of my friends from our group of 10 found a major bug in Amazon and got a $12,000 bounty for it! That’s huge. And he was doing all this while attending college classes. This just proves that I can do it too—I just need to invest more time and stay consistent. Consistency is key.
With that, I went on my daily walk. Today's step count: 5,320, bringing my total steps to 63,142.
