So yeah, today is Monday, a workday. Yesterday, I didn’t sleep well—went to bed around 1 AM and woke up today at 8 AM, which is not usual for me, to be honest.
Since I was a bit late, the first thing I did was attend the morning security meeting, which I usually attend but just keep myself muted and don’t even engage.
After that, my colleague & friend and I didn’t have much work to do, so we spent around 2-3 hours organizing our work into a sheet that I had created a while ago. This sheet contains all our different tasks during the internship, including our weekly reports and security findings. But we realized we had missed adding a lot of key points.
Since our internship is about to end, we started reviewing our contributions and researching our next steps. We are preparing a high-level overview of how our work has helped enhance the company’s security. The idea is to make sure the upper management (CTO, CISO, or Director) is aware of our contributions. So, we spent time creating a summary sheet, a presentation (PPT), and updating our weekly report.
At this point, we are also researching our expectations for **full-time roles**, including **salary benchmarks** and benefits. We’re making sure we have all this arranged properly so that if anyone wants to review our work, they can see exactly how valuable we are to the company.
Later, one of my close friendtalked about her salary hikethings that she asked to the director and got good response from him. The way she puts in effort, detailed research, and commitment is really inspiring(no really i'm talking). The best part is that she’s now directly engaging with the company’s clients, including large financial firms, to help solve their problems in real-time. It’s great to see close friends taking small steps towards their dreams. it feels good tbh to see everyone around u are doing great & taking baby steps towards thier dreams.
She is also looking for other great opportunities. It's a process where we often receive a lot of rejections or generic responses, but that’s just part of the journey. It’s good to see her keeping up the effort despite that.
Apart from all this i come across her post about a picture on Instagram—a close-up of blue ocean water. When I first saw it, I thought it was edited, but the pinkish tint on those sparkles in the water made it look magical. It was probably due to light reflection, but the picture was absolutely beautiful.
Apart from all this, I was also planning my study abroad. Even though I lost some of the funds for it, my sister messaged me today, saying her COVID test is now negative and she will slowly start work again from tomorrow. She also encouraged me to not give up on my study abroad plans, no matter what. So yeah, I’m considering studying abroad in September next year. Right now, I’m researching countries and universities, but honestly, I feel stuck. Every time I hear something good about a country, I also hear something bad, which makes it hard to decide.
Later, I went on my daily walk. Today's step count is 5,805, bringing my total to 92,643.
